William Young signed piece.
William Young lived from 1841 to 1865. The first serial numbers of these Plain Compass were issued in 1854. The glass in the compass is cracked and the looking glass has a chip in it.
The box is in great condition with the hardware presenting well. The box measures 15.5" long, 8.5" deep, and 5" tall.
