Beautiful Old GURLEY Survey Transit in original Wooden Case,Ser # 47944 Part I like the most about this guy is the beautiful curve on the arms that hold the telescope part. Aaaanyway, optics are clean, much crisper than the photo suggests, focus is precise, all the bubble levels are full and work perfectly, all knobs are tested and work freely. Ser # 47944 suggests this guy was made in 1947 Box is a bit worn, actually quite worn, one hinge is out of the wood, you'll need a few screws and some wood putty, latches need to be replaced if you want to, but the leather strap is about the thickest leather I've ever seen, that and the one tight hinge will keep this closed for a long, long time.
