Serial number shows this is from the late 1930's
In original box with dove-tailed joints, leather handles (still pliable) and brass corners on the bottom.
No clasp or latch on the box.
The brass base that the level is mounted on is about 11.5" wide x3.75" deep x 3.5" high.
The level with base weights about 3 pounds 12 ounces.
The level in the wooden box weights about 6.5 pounds.
Untested.
Bubble level is intact.
