1876 CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION * Red & Blue Patriotic Handkerchief w/ 5 Buildings
This auction is for a very scarce cotton handkerchief from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia.  The kerchief has dimensions approximately 21 ¼” x 20 ½” with 3 finished edges.  The design includes INDEPENDENCE 1776   CENTENNIAL 1876 and 5 Primary Exhibition buildings: Memorial Hall, Main Building, Machinery Hall, Agricultural Hall, and Horticultural Hall.  The print design looks like they used a stencil or woodcut blocks.  The overall condition is VG with light wear, scattered foxing, and
the colors are significantly faded
