This auction is for a very nice piece of fabric made for the 1876 Centennial in Philadelphia.  This fabric is pictured on page 190 (textile 388) in the classic book
Threads of History
(Smithsonian Institution Press, 1979).  The book image shows the mirror image but all motifs match.  The antique fabric is a “Cheater” style that is printed to simulate a pieced quilt.  The brown cotton fabric has dimensions approximately 8 ½” x 35 ½” and features panels with a Liberty Bell & 1776 and a Peace Shield and 1876.  The overall condition is VF with very light wear and thread holes where comforter ties were pulled out.   Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other auctions - combine shipping and save.
